Friendship

What is a friend? I have had many in my lifetime and each is special in their own way and one thing is for sure, you can not have to many of them. Growing up as a young girl, I remember walking each day down to my best friends house where I would meet up with other best friends and we would have a swim party or just sit out in the front yard and listen to records. There are so many wonderful summer nights that remind me of days gone by, the friends I had, what we did for fun like playing hide and go seek......... the wonderful smell of Jasmine in the air and the sounds of the crickets! I would spend the night if not the week-end at my friends house and I clearly remember the corner group of twin beds and she had a phone that was in a box that you had to lift the lid and the phone would pull out or the cord would for its use. I thought that she was so rich and had the best stuff. Just a young girls ideas of the grass being greener. Truth is, we make friends our whole life but there will always be those that are extra special even if we don't keep in touch over the years. The memories will always be treasured. |
